PDF research often involves moving between the document and your own interpretation of it. The controls around a highlight should support that rhythm, not interrupt it.
Annotation controls that stay on the page
The annotation panel now measures the space around a selected passage and chooses a position that remains inside the visible PDF page. When a highlight is near an edge, the panel adjusts instead of slipping outside the reading area.
You can still change the highlight color, add a comment, close the panel, or remove the annotation. The interaction simply stays closer to the passage you are working with.
Smoother work in longer documents
The reader now keeps a practical buffer of nearby pages ready while avoiding unnecessary page work far away from the viewport. This makes scrolling through a larger document feel more stable without changing the document itself or the annotations you already saved.
Nothing new to learn
Open a PDF note, select a passage, and annotate it as before. Existing highlights and comments continue to work; the difference is that the controls are less likely to get in your way.
